Archer's birthday cake!!

So, I'm totally not a baker, at all. However, Chance's boyfriend had a peanut butter grooms cake. Oh. My. Goodness. It was the best cake ever. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, but still. Awesome. I've been thinking that I wanted to have that same lady make me one, but now I'm thinking I should just make one myself. So, that is the plan.

I found this recipe and a really cool blog and I'm going to try it out this weekend. Here's the cake:

And here is the recipe and blog.

Okay... so I do a lot of baking, and here's a tip for getting the cake to NOT stick to the pan. Use your fingers to spread butter (or margarine) fresh out of the fridge all over the inside of your baking pan(s). Once there is a layer covering all of the surface, dump a couple tablespoons of all-purpose flour into the pan and shake it, turn it, whatever you have to do to cover the entire buttered surface. The entire thing needs to be coated. Lay out a paper towel, turn the pan upside-down on top of it, and gently pat the excess flour onto it. Voila! A perfectly buttered and floured cake pan! From there, just pour the batter right in.

Let cool a few minutes, then press the cooling rack directly to the top of the cake and carefully flip the cake over. It'll slide out very easily without sticking. I usually have my DH help me flip it onto the serving dish so I don't accidentally drop it- LOL!
